Constantia Retirement appointed fourfoursixsix to propose a scheme for the development of this 11,750m/2 site just outside Bath, UK. A low density response was required within this area of intense natural beauty. It was therefore decided to concentrate most of the properties and shared facilities within three multi-storey facilities, thus maximising the percentage of green space on the site. An additional lower density 'neighbourhood' of single storey dwellings was then proposed for the North of the site.

Utilising local stone in combination with sustainable timbers, the proposal is a modern response that remains in tune with the character of the surrounding context.
