Designed around the varying natural ecology of the island, whilst drawing heavily from the local vernacular architecture, the scheme proposed the movement to and around the site as a continually unfolding narrative.
With the key zones organised carefully according to the site’s topology, fauna and aspect, the proposed architecture was designed specifically according to each respective zone. The masterplan considers the density of the scheme as a positive rather than negative attribute of the development.
Carefully linked via a hierarchy of pathways crisscrossing their way through the site, the inhabitant is invited to explore far beyond their individual residences. A family of architectural follies and flower banks, strategically placed along the circulation, bind the development into a unique cohesive whole; from the tented mangrove spa’s to the private jetties and luxury residences.
