Fourfoursixsix were asked to propose a scheme for the full refurbishment of a five storey town house in Chelsea, London. Working alongside a structural engineer, the proposed scheme allowed the client to create open-plan space throughout both the raised ground and lower ground spaces.
Choosing to conceal the primary central supports within a WC and storage facility (raised ground) and kitchen cabinetry (lower ground), both levels give the impression of large, open-plan spaces, free of structure. Architectural glazing further enhances this sense of space and light, whilst providing visual connections between levels.
